Where do I begin? From the moment I contacted Jim Zalewski at Old Town Funeral Services I was put at ease, despite the sudden loss I had just experienced of my mother. The cost was very reasonable, but unmatched was the experience. I'm so very thankful for Jim, truly. His calm, yet genuine and caring demeanor is huge part of what I relied on while undergoing the planning for my mother. Jim went above and beyond and was always available. The most beautiful experience our family has ever had with a funeral. I will forever recommend Gary Maxwell and Team! Theres simply no one better. My father was laid to rest in style, in celebration of his life and looking every bit as handsome as he had before entering the hospital. My journey with Jefferson Chapel began when my mother passed away. My brother Andrew had been in touch with the chapel when her hospice journey started. She chose Jefferson Chapel after attending a memorial for my coworker's mother and left notes about her memorial preferences. On the evening she passed, the hospice nurse called Jefferson Chapel to inform them of her passing. The chapel representative asked how long we needed with her before they came to take her body away. They offered to come after four hours, but we requested two hours. Lelia and PJ arrived promptly and, seeing the grief and emotions my sister and I were experiencing, they offered us more time with her. As they carefully wrapped her in a white shroud, I took photographs and videos. Neither Lelia nor PJ stopped me from doing so. They carried her out with great care, making it feel like a funeral procession. They placed her in their van, waited for us to say our goodbyes, and respectfully asked if it was okay to close

Jefferson Funeral Chapel made the process easy and smooth. We had no idea where to start and Abu walked us through each step and what to expect. We attended the still life art session on October 11, 2025. The still life was so beautiful and varied that we sketched several different sections of it during the session. We loved having the time to focus without distractionsother than the laughter from participants. We highly recommend continuing these sessions.

My family has used Domains for both of my parents. When the time came for my husband. I choose Domains. Robert Simms passed away in a very good nursing home in Ashland , Virginia. I live in Richmond VA. We chose Domains above all of the funeral homes between here and there the last time I saw my Bobby alive he was thin blue gray in color. When I saw him at Domains. He looked like he had been out in the gardened and fresh shower. Bobby looked strong. The muscle in his arm was strong again. The ringer finger was back to the size 11. For the first time in over a year . I could put his wedding ring. Back on his ring finger. Bobby was in his jeans, flannel shirt, t shirt and his favorite drinks.

Nelson Green's family has tended to our family for years. Nelson is gone and my childhood buddy, has joined the heavenly choir as well.

My father passed away in late Sep'20, and Greene Funeral Home took care of my family. We were recommended to Greene Funeral Home through a family friend. They were very understanding, they helped with the logistics of everything. I had some very emotional family members with me, and they handle everything calmly. The team at Metropolitan Funeral Services is wonderful. The building itself is very humble, tucked away in an industrial area of Alexandria. Don't let this fool you. In route to Washington DC ARLINGTON nationalCemetery today I learned that a real id was required to enter the gate. I was traveling in the funeral coach with the casketed remains of a World War II veteran . I was at a loss As to what to do since, according to Arlington, there was no exception . lost to no exception & and Metropolitan came to mind. True to form & They answered my call with professionalism, kindness and a can do attitude! Karen and Dennis rerouted me to them and Eric ( real id in hand ) was waiting when I arrived to take the wheel and get us on property and allow BURLINGTONmy family to be served & I will always engage Metropolitan as they are categorically the best !!! We are so thankful to the staff and Michael Turch for being so helpful, respectful and kind during this trying time of our beloved mother's passing. Michael was very helpful and kept us updated on the proceedings. Since we had to transfer the ashes internationally, he was able to in record time and get the paperwork we needed to apostille the certificate to be able to make the transfer. A welcome relief for us that we fid not have to worry about documents during this sorrowful period. I would recomend Northern Virginia Burial and Cremation Society anytime.
