Heather is very informative, polite, helpful and provided great customer service throughout the entire process of getting my father cremated. She also made sure to protect his rights and ensured my siblings and I had and received everything we needed being that we live in a different state. My late father was cared for at Oakeys funeral home South Chapel. As unfortunate as the event and experience was, I couldnt have imagined a better experience or director. Asia was so sweet, kind and genuinely compassionate. She asked all the right questions and gave my brother and I time to think grieve and plan.

Our experience with Oakeys South (twice) has been exceptional. They were professional and sympathetic in guiding us through this difficult process and assisting us in making the proper decisions. Despite our being from out of state and weather challenges, Jeff and Tabatha and staff coordinated a beautiful memorial and burial service for our mom. They are absolutely reliable and will go the extra mile to honor your loved one.

The facility was clean, peaceful, and thoughtfully maintained, which gave us a great sense of comfort. The turnaround time was exactly as promised, and our pets ashes were returned to us in beautiful urns, carefully prepared and presented with care. They also went above and beyond by providing a paw prints and small clippings of fur as keepsakes. I could not speak more highly of the service I recieved today. From the initial call, to bringing my baby in, the staff was phenomenal. Such care and compassion was shown. They helped me through a very painful and heartbreaking experience. Even the person that does the cremation cleaned up my baby boy so I could see him and say goodbye one last time. I am truly grateful for the people that helped me today.

Don is beyond amazing and needs to be cloned. He provided me with unmatched comfort in the passing of the husband and love of my life. I was totally lost when my husband of 37-1/2 years passed away suddenly. I knew we both wanted to be cremated, but I had not looked around to select a specific service provider beforehand. My husband's wishes were a simple cremation and he did not want a traditional funeral. I'm so thankful I discovered and went with Roanoke Cremations. The owner, Don, was just the nicest, kindest person ever! The process of getting arrangements made was so simple. I felt very comfortable and at ease speaking with Don and he had such a sincerely kind and compassionate personality; genuine. I like that the office was more relaxed than formal - like visiting a relative! It was a cozy environment. He didn't try to sell me a $12K funeral or an expensive urn or container. He listened to what I needed and he also urged me to take my time on decisions such as picking the urn or display container. The pricing on everything was up front and very affordable. I did not feel pressured at all.

Unfortunately, weve needed them twice. Theyve been absolutely amazing. Theyre extremely professional.

Nina assisted four members of my family in doing cremation pre-planning. She is knowledgeable and professional without sacrificing a personal touch. I had a lot of questions and she patiently provided the answers. The cost of Tharp Funeral Home's prepaid crematory services was much lower than that of their local competitors. I highly recommend them!
