We live in Michigan and it was my cousins request that we carry out his end of life wishes. He wished to be cremated and did not care where the ashes were spread. He was proud of his military service and my wife suggested he be interred at the Nevada VA cemetery in Fernley like her own father was in Michigan We really had no idea how this was to be handled. We called several cremation facilities in the Northern Nevada area and after much discussion settled on Nevada Cremation Society. They seemed kind, concerned, and did not have a hard sell. They informed us exactly what everything was going to cost and the end of life process seemed very reasonable. They turned out to be wonderful. Lisa, the woman who guided us through the process took care of so many things and extended herself in so many ways. The process felt good. We always felt we were informed on everything and told well in advance the next step and how long it would take. I would highly recommend them for a relative. Sincere

They all were very nice. Me and my brother were able to take our time with our choices.....Mom wanted to be cremated and we couldn't really find an Urn we liked so we ordered one online and brought it in when we went to pick her up and the lady was so sweet and transferred Mom's ashes from the cardboard box to our Urn and also made up small individual bags for us to put in the matching mini Urns we ordered so the rest of the family could have her too. I would most definitely recommend them. Hospice was the place that recommended them to us because they would've mailed Mom's ashes to us but we opted to just drive to Reno and pick her up ourselves. It's a very nice place. We were also able to pay for all expenses the same day Mom passed away. They were quick to pick her up after Hospice made their call. The group home held Mom longer than they should've just so we could come see her and say our good byes before they transported her.

Cant say enough great things about the staff here. They responded within an hour after being called by Hospice. We called a day later and scheduled an appointment the next day. Harrison was very compassionate and a great help in preparing my mother in laws final wishes. From the casket, to the beautiful flowers and transporting to the cemetery. I highly recommend this family owned business.

losing someone that means the world to you is not easy, but having a funeral home that does everything they can to help with the lose is everything. I had the pleasure of working with Harrison with my fathers passing and especially sending him to Mexico made the transition easier. Harrison and his team always kept us updated and never seemed bothered when we called with a million questions. I will forever be grateful with this funeral home! We trusted them with our world and they came through!

My father is in hospice care and my mother has significant mobility issues. I take care of them both in their home, which makes getting out difficult. When I told Caitlyn this, she promptly offered to come to their home to make final arrangements for both of them. She is incredibly kind, knowledgable, and efficient as from the first phone call to final signature it was all completed in two days. It's also worth mentioning that I called 7 cremation businesses and Simple Cremation is the least expensive.

Caitlyn Ottmann made the experience very easy to do pre arrangements for my father for whenever he may need it. I was able to setup a payment plan with her and I won't have to worry about anything in the future. I plan on doing one for myself and husband as well to make it easy for our children down the road. The price was very reasonable which is a huge plus.

Joyce did a fantastic job for our father's funeral coordination. She answered all questions promptly and listened to our needs. I would recommend La Paloma to anyone in the Reno area.

Im not usually one to leave reviews, but this one is long overdue. My little brother was tragically and suddenly taken from us March 16, 2025, and I was left completely devastated. As his next of kin, I took on the responsibility of planning every detail, which included finding a mortuary in Reno, Nevada, to receive my brothers remains and care for him before he was transferred back home to California. At the time, I had already experienced difficult and unkind interactions with the Medical Examiners office, as well as inaccurate news reports, and statements from Nugget Casino so I was understandably anxious about what the rest of this process might be like. I am incredibly grateful that, from the list I was given, I chose to call La Paloma Funeral Services and that Rick was the one who answered my call that day. The funeral hometofuneral home experience was handled with exceptional care and professionalism. Every step of the process was communicated clearly, and the level of compassion shown made a difficult time much easier to navigate. Steve took very good care of my family and me. We lost my dad October 2025 and my mom December 2025. Hard losing parents back to back like that. Steve handled things very well and asked all the right questions. He told us what to come prepared with to each appointment, and kept us informed every step of the way. I felt confident with them every step of the way. They really made mom look so pretty for her viewing at the Church. They put the nail polish on I dropped off and got her hair to look so beautiful. They also got dad spot on for his viewing too. He looked so handsome. They transported them to and from the church and had them ready for cremation burial within a few days.

Steve did a wonderful job two years ago with my mom and just last month with my stepdad. Covered all of the bases, good advice and recommendations, tasteful presentation at the viewings, clean and respectful rooms, quick responses to questions and requested adjustments. Professional. We worked with Ken, and could not have been treated better. He was so thoughtful, tactful, sensitive, and easy to talk to. He was a gret problem solver and teammate to make everything run smoothly. He was very realistic and we knew what to expect, but then he had his can do attitude and made some of our most unusual requests a reality. His ability to read the tone of the people with whom he's interacting is incredible; he picked up on our vibe right away and made us feel right at home. I couldn't help but think how much my dad would've appreciated him and his interactions with us. Having such a great person help you in such a tough thing makes a world of difference. Walton's is wonderful. I lost several family members this year, and Blake did everything he could to help me through the process. My whole family on my father's side, including my father, has now passed through Walton's under Blake's care. I'm thankful for the whole staff, their professionalism, and compassion. They were respectful, we cremated Mac here because we heard good things about Heart's Companion. Cremation frees the soul in smoke, and we have the option to keep this part of him with us. There's a print service, so I have Mac's left paw on a ceramic. I wish I didn't have to go here in the first place, but he died and I didn't want his body to be removed or buried anywhere in this city. Heart's Companion is one of the rare good places in Reno.

Sad to say I have had to use multiple pet crematoriums, and one vet that did their own. Hearts Companion has on multiple occasions made crossing the rainbow bridge a little easier.

We had Dr Ulrich who was compassionate and kind. She explained everything to us before the procedure. I cant thank her enough for her compassion and patience. I loved my Shih-tzu so so much she helped my husband and myself with the transition of this life for him to get over the rainbow bridge! She is amazing! I would recommend her to everyone who has to make this decision for their pet! Thank you Dr. Ulrich cant thank you enough! You are the best!

The entire experience was wonderful for my Chihuahua that was 22 years old that passed away Tech Meadows had a fantastic job!

We lost Shiro about a week and a half ago. I cried every day, couldnt eat, and couldnt sleep for the first few days. She was my everything. When I had to find a cremation place, I called a few in the area and got the best impression from Jeremyhis way of handling my saddest day felt sincere and comforting. I also appreciated the clear pricing table on the website. Another reason I chose him was the bio cremation, which can return up to about 20% more ashes (I learned this from a YouTube video elsewhere). It was the hardest decision of my lifeI knew nothing about cremation, and I had to make it quickly when I could barely think straight. Somehow, I felt this method would be better for Shiroshe would be in warm water for 21 hours, gently cleaned, like a peaceful spa treatment. Shiro was special, and she knew she was special, so I felt this was right for her. It made me feel like she was being cared for one last time before coming back to me. I have nothing against other cremation

We lost our family dog earlier this year. I spent much of the morning in tears while trying to figure out our best options for aftercare, contacting multiple companies for pricing and general information. Whenever I was able to finally speak with a person, most places gave me fluctuating prices with minimal compassion. Jeremy's response was immediate and genuinely comforting, and his pricing was fair and clear. He met with our family and answered any questions my daughters had about the process. If I could give more stars I would. Caden at the front desk is amazing and the specialist Morgan is truly an angel. I had terrible service and communication with another memorial service and West Coast helped me more than I could ever put into words. My little lady Bug was taken from me in a tragic way and the paw prints I received from the other memorial business was horrific. When they tried to "make it right" they give me a second terrible paw print and made me feel awful for again being unsatisfied. Caden was so kind and calm through the whole process of helping me get a paw print of my dog that was a true paw print memorial. Morgan made me the paw print I needed to help me grieve and I will forever be grateful to her. I have nothing but love for this business and the individuals that make it happen. If you need after care for your little loved one this is the place to go.

My baby boy Taco was such a good dog. He had been through hell with his first owners and so Im so glad we gave him a better home for 9 years. He was a crazy little guy and couldnt keep himself from getting into the trash or trying to hump the mailman every once and awhile but we still loved him. We actually cremated him back in 2021 but I wanted to come on here and give it a review anyways. I miss my goofy little rat dog so much so Im so happy to have a mold of his paw print to remind me of him. Losing my childhood dog made me feel like time had stopped. But now whenever I walk past his ashes and his paw, I smile. Because I know he would want me to be happy. So thank you for caring for him even when his soul was not here with us anymore�

My Mia crossed over the rainbow bridge recently and I chose a private viewing/ cremation for Mia. I explained to Skylar what I wanted and upon arrival, I was granted everything concerning my Mia . They went above and beyond for my Mia and my family! They were so compassionate and caring as they understand what youre going through as they also understand this was the most difficult time in our lives. I never knew before this that one can have a private viewing/cremation and watch as much as you choose! I wanted this for my Mia and I absolutely do not regret my decision in watching everything with my precious girl! I HIGHLY recommend West Coast pet crematory!
