We recently lost a very special person to our family. My mother in law. One of the toughest times in a person's life is making arrangements for a loved one. Jerry Darby made it a quick and comfortable (as much as it could be) experience for our family. He went 100 extra miles for us. He is more than a 5 star director. I want to let everyone know about Lakeside Funeral Home tucked away off Prien Lake Rd in Lake Charles, LA. Kyle was so easy to talk to especially when making arrangements for our dad. He checked on us during the visitation and Kyle was very patient with our needy family with every single question. The price of arrangements were half the amount we paid for my moms service at a different funeral home. It was so beautiful inside and peaceful creating a very comforting space to celebrate our dad. Johnson Funeral Home has been of service to our family on two occasions. 32 years ago, they provided arrangements for our father, and in September 2025, they supported us during the loss of our mother. Rachael, the funeral director, did an outstanding job by thoroughly attending to our needs. The lady, Mika, at Highland was very nice and very accommodating. We wanted Highland because my parents are there. We are so glad everything is picked out and paid for. That is one less thing for our kids to have to do when we pass. The niches were beautiful and my husband is already picking out things he wants in his. We are so happy with our decision.

My husband and I just purchased a double niche for our urns. The associate who helped us was very nice and knowledgeable and the process was quick and easy. What impressed us is that they have glass niches where you can see the urn and you can decorate your niche with momentos or anything you like. The mausoleum is beautiful and the grounds are very nice

She patiently described the process and answered all of my questions. The gentleman I dropped my pet off with was also very kind. I went into the main building to make my payment and the woman who helped was very sweet. I later picked up the remains from the same gentleman, who was again very kind on our second encounter. Encountering kindness from three separate employees speaks volumes.
