River Woods Funeral Chapels in Des Plaines went above and beyond for our family during one of the most difficult times of our lives. From the very beginning, they handled my uncles passing with compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. Losing a loved one is never easy, but they truly made the entire process as smooth and comforting as possible. They took care of everything, including the complex arrangements needed to have my uncle transported back to his home country of Mexico. Knowing that this was handled properly and respectfully gave our family so much peace of mind during an incredibly emotional time. They also welcomed all of our friends and family and allowed us to gather together, serve snacks, and share refreshments. Excellent experience at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Attended a family member's funeral that started late in the afternoon and went to early evening. Staff was very attentive and thoughtful. One of the guests had an accident and one staff person, turned out to be the funeral director, was very discreet and careful about getting what we needed for the guest to be comfortable. Tremendous professionalism. At the facilities everything was very clean and clearly well cared for. Very helpful to have a cloak room as well as prep area. I inadvertently left some very important items at the end of the funeral because I was absorbed with other responsibilities. I called the main line and got the answering service. But we also had the direct number for Julia Shim the funeral director, who is still at the facility wrapping up with her team. She was exceptionally helpful when she was reached. Thank you very much Oehler funeral family for the excellent service youve provided for Viloria Family last Dec 15, 2025. Were extremely satisfied from beginning to end. My dad, in 2016, had his service here too and it had been great too, and Henry Lee took care of it. He showed the catalogue, gave great advice and affordable prices. Now that its my moms time, so much has change with the new technology. Emily Bretscher was very thorough, very detailed and very patient with us. She took care of everything including the clergy. Kyle Wiegel did a great job with my moms favorite music, Elvis Presley, obituary proofs and moms photo. I am sure mommy was very happy in heaven. Emily and Kyle both took care of the photos. Mommy was perfect when we saw her for the last time. Thank you so much Emily and Kyle for your care and professionalism. It really meant a lot to us, Viloria Family. Oehler is highly recommended.

Memory Eternal was gracious enough to provide services when my mom recently passed away. They were patient, kind, professional, reasonable in cost and offerings. The staff is beyond responsive. They are so caring and kind at a time when it is so necessary to be as such. My moms services were beautiful, respectful and they treated her with such honor. I laid my mother to rest today, and I am deeply thankful for the kindness, respect, and support Vanessa and her entire team at Memory Eternal have shown me throughout the entire process - from the early stages through the final moments earlier this afternoon.
