My family and I were very pleased with the professional service we received from everyone at Hill-Skeffington in December 2025 after our mother passed. In particular, Jim Melia, who as my main contact was so very helpful throughout the process. His professionalism and dedication to building a trusting relationship were evident from our initial conversation. He truly cared about doing what was best for us and our mom and followed through in the most attentive and compassionate manner. From driving to NJ to bring mom to RI, to coordinating with the cemetery, church and assisting with everything else that needed to be done, Jim's follow up and attention to detail were excellent. All of which made our lives much easier during a very difficult and emotional time. Thanks to Jim and all of the staff for all you did for us - it is indeed much appreciated.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Hill-Skeffington Funeral Home and especially Jim. My father passed away in September while living in Rhode Island, and I live in Alabama. I was unable to make it to my dad before he passed, which made everything even harder. With just one phone call, Jim reassured me that he would take care of my father and would wait for me to arrive. That reassurance meant more than I can express. After several flight delays, I arrived at 7:00 p.m., and Jim personally met me at the funeral home and sat with me and my husband. He took time to ask about my father and showed genuine compassion and care. Nothing felt rushedhe truly wanted to honor my dad. My father was a veteran, and Skeffington Funeral Homes respect for veterans was evident. Jim ensured every detail reflected my fathers military service and that his funeral was fitting and meaningful. Even though I was far from home, Jim made me feel completely welcome and even recommended places to eat and
What a fantastic experience during one of the hardest days of my life. David,Jim and John were all very helpful through the whole process
