We could not be happier with the service we were offered at Shook Funeral Home. I should hope that other funeral homes are as wonderful as this place is but if I were you, I would not take the chance. My father passed away mid December 2025. He had been dealing with two types of cancer for about 2.5 years. He lost so much more weight in his last month of life that he looked like a skeleton. My mom and sister were hesitant to have a viewing because they did not know think the funeral home would be able to make him look like himself. Since I was not sure if I would want to see him one more time, Tom gently encouraged us to get him embalmed. And Im very glad we did. They made my father look amazing! We were thrilled with the job they did. Everything was handled in a timely and professional manner. My husband recently passed away. That time I didn't know anything about funeral. I searching online and found NJSCC, I called them and gave them some information. They made everything so easy for me to do my husband's cremation. We did online paper work. Rosa and Stephanie very professional and very good customer service. The loss of my son was unexpected and there were several complications surrounding his death. I was not sure where to turn and was in a fragile state. I found The Cremation Society of New Jersey and everyone there was caring and patient as they explained what I needed to do and what they could do to make the process simple and easy. I am indebted to them for their support and professionalism. The support has continued through the access they provide to information about how to move through grief. They have made a difficult time more manageable.

My parents and grandparents are buried on this cemetery. My grandfather even worked here! I moved away and relied on having grave blankets for my parents. Thanks to Gary and his staff, who went the extra to call me i now have a blanket this year!! Thank you!!

This cemetery is absolutely lovely, and very well maintained. Trees, trees, and more trees. Shrubs and planting. Such a natural-feeling setting. The staff is also extremely helpful, and prompt to answer emails. The website provides many helpful aids -the cemetery map in particular, which even notes 'steps'. It's one of the prettiest cemeteries I've seen. A pleasure to visit and would be a serene place of eternal rest. 6 Stars if 6 were offered.

Extremely helpful in coordinating the scattering of a family member's ashes in the Scattering Garden and also in researching and finding the locations of twelve family gravesites!! I have worked with other cemeteries and East Ridgelawn is far and above in providing quick and cordial service!
