Potomac Valley Cremation Center exemplified professionalism and compassion in an emotionally-driven moment in our family's lives. They thoughtfully answered any questions that we had and made sure we were comfortable with every decision that was made.
After losing my son in June, who died in another state that I have no resources in, this crematory was the only one I called that actually answered their phone! The woman I spoke to was very nice and walked me through the process. I was waiting for family to fly/drive to Baltimore with me and she was very accommodating for a Friday afternoon and telling me to take my time. Once we arrived the staff were very kind and again said to take our time saying goodbye. They had said they'd fix him up for us but since they are not a funeral home it won't be like we are used to. I didn't have high expectations of his appearance or the place in general since they warned me it's in an industrial park. Once they walked us into the room, and I saw my son laying in a makeshift casket, he looked much better than I expected, they cleaned him up, did his hair and posed him as if it were a funeral home. The room was actually very peaceful with a large sitting area and tissues. I think there was soft music

12/28/25- our experience with The Rest Haven Funeral Home was excellent. Susanna worked with us from the beginning, being very accommodating, since we were from out of state. She helped us with all the arrangements for the services and the reception afterward. The facility is very clean and neat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rest Haven really made us feel comfortable. Rest Haven was highly recommended to us and we see why.

Matthew is a super respectful transporter who provides the most gentle and respectful care, while still being a real, down-to-earth person. Thank you Minnich Funeral Home for all of your help and support.
My husband and I shopped for pre-need for his parents in both Hagerstown and Frederick several years prior to requiring funeral home services in 2021. This was our first experience going to funeral homes for pre-need. It has been 2.5 years since the funeral and this review has been on my to-do list since then, but the exceptional service we received from Minnich is fresh on my mind as I write this review. You can never forget how someone made everything run so smoothly during times of grief. My husband and I went to three funeral homes in early 2019 during our search for pre-need arrangements, two in the Hagerstown/Boonsboro area and one in Frederick. Of the three, Minnich Funeral Home impressed us the most for several reasons. Christine (at Minnich) was an absolute professional when she provided us all the information we requested, but more than that, she provided us information we didn't know we needed when looking into pre-need. Minnich was the third place we went, and we lear
Scott and his family have always treated our family the best through difficult times. Unfortunately, we're here again with a fantastic brother in law who passed. Scott went to school with our sons. Additionally they have 1 of only 2 cremation facilities in this area. Very convenient. I remember when that was all done in Baltimore. Without the additional transportation costs, Minnich was the best choice.

My brother and I requested cremation services for our mother. Ryan was an absolute pleasure. His gentle and caring demeanor was very comforting. He spoke eloquently and guided us through the process with such grace. It is clear that above and beyond service is the standard. The timing of the services provided exceeded our expectations and were most affordable. Without hesitation I will always recommend Coffman Funeral Home.
A friend of mine recently died in Maryland. His family asked me to recommend a funeral home. I made calls to many funerals homes in the area and immediately knew this was the right choice. The phone was answered by the director. He referred to my friend by his name. (Never once referred to Scott as a body. He said he would take Scott into the care of the funeral home. Others said, pick him up. They were very professional and thoughtful when speaking. They were very fairly priced. (3,000.00) LESS than another funeral home in the same area. The service they provided was incredible. They had all documents ready when promised. When it came to arrangements, it was all bout the convenience of the family. He even offered to go to their home to make it more convenient for them. You dont hear that much anymore. They updated the family when Scott was out of the facility and in their care. Always nice to know where your family member has made it safely to the funeral home. I
Mr. Berger was very helpful and professional as he helped me during the loss of my son. He eased my mind and made sure that everything was in order for me. He helped alleviate my stress and took time to answer all my questions clearly and calmly. Thank you, Mr. Berger.

Doug and his staff were very professional, guiding us through the process step by step and answered all the questions we had during a difficult time.
Thank you Katie and the rest of the staff for the compassionate and personal care you provided during such a difficult time for our family. Your attention to detail, kindness, and understanding made a world of difference and helped us honor our loved one in a truly and meaningful way. We are deeply grateful. The funeral home had a modern, updated design that felt comforting and peaceful rather than somber.
My father in law passed. They made the service very nice. We had no issues. Thank you for helping us lay this wonderful man to rest

Kellen is a very honest, transparent, and professional director and is a pleasure to deal with her and Harman's as a whole.
Harman Funeral Home (and their Potomac Valley Cremation Center) were truly top-notch for us in every respect. Even though we purchased the most basic of cremation services at a price far more economical than most others in the area, we were provided with truly superior customer service, courtesy, efficiency, patience and true compassion during our difficult time. I cannot imagine it being done better - at any price! The option to complete all forms online in advance was very helpful to us, and Kellen was extremely patient & helpful, even as we had various delays on our end. She kept working with us (answering our calls & emails promptly) until we got our act together enough to complete the simple online process. Even though we didn't purchase the options for family visitation or any other services, we were provided full support by phone, email and in any way we requested, including the OWNER meeting us at a time of our convenience at the funeral home to provide us with the ashes.
Great service from this funeral home.

Rest Haven is a funeral home and cemetery. It has a full service chapel, a large reception room with a stone fireplace and three visitation rooms. The cemetery dates back to 1927 and is a beautiful piece of property with a pond and tree lined lanes. They do traditional funerals and cremations. The facilities are first rate and the staff is extremely friendly and very experienced. They listened to my needs and helped me with every step of the process.
Rest Haven in Hagerstown MD has been service to our family and the Church of God & Saints of Christ of Hagerstown MD since 1983. Their personal, comforting, and professional mannerism in our time of needs as well as pre-planned considerations has kept us using their services. We thank the owners and their staff for their kindness and their assistance always Pastor Mark A Guy & Family
Rest Haven is a beautiful cemetery, but it's sliding into decay since Mr. Ebersole passed. The trees are dying, many have been removed and limbs are always falling. There is worsening erosion behind the beautiful antique stone walls lining the Hamilton Run, which adds enormous historical charm to the cemetery. Yet no attempt is being made to preserve these walls and stop the erosion, even as it may threaten some grave sites. Unless management changes course, over the next decade or two Rest Haven will look more like a treeless golf course than pastoral manor grounds.

Beautiful cemetery where the past meets the present. Some of the most unique memorials that I have seen. It's a very large cemetery that you can drive through as well as walk.
