Alternative Cremation was so considerate to us. Our family member passed without a will or power of attorney in place, so things have been very stressful on the family. But their team made everything a seamless process so we were able to focus on putting our loved one to rest. I HIGHLY recommend using them not only for this reason, but because they are the most affordable place in such a difficult time.

This is the best funeral home for anyone who is wondering. We went to 2 different funeral homes before this and the other 2 didnt have the best vibes. The first one we went to the owner was too busy trying to sell how the funeral home looked rather than being sympathetic and listening to what we wanted. The second one wasnt accommodating at all. When we came to angelus they were very sympathetic and accommodated everything we wanted. We felt good about this place as soon as we walked in. Thank you so much to Tanya, Veronica, and staff who helped us every step of the way and we didnt have to worry about anything going wrong.

We recently worked with Terri Cain to discuss options for our final arrangements. She was delightful to work with and explained each point clearly so that we were able to make informed decisions as we went through the process. We now feel well prepared for whats to come.

I just wanted to thank simply cremation for taking care of my Mom. I'm an only child and they had been super helpful. Justin was kind enough to put my Mom's Ashes into the urn for me. I can tell he is really respectful and cares about the work he does. He validated my feelings and spent time with me today even though i know he was running late. I never once felt rushed. Thank you all for making this a peaceful journey. You can tell that they are an honest company even my moms life insurance, and hospice team recommended them. Christian was the most wonderful director we could have asked for. This was an incredibly difficult time for my family. His calm demeanor and personality were such a blessing. The entire staff made sure every detail was taken care of and All our questions and concerns were taken seriously and calmed every issue we had. They provided a beautiful area for our viewing. I will say my experience with Evergreen was very good. From the moment my brother and I arrived we were treated with sympathy and respect. Having to bury a loved one is by far one of the hardest things I think a person can go through. Be realistic with your expectations in the process. Nobody is perfect. What helped us was having a plan in mind before we even showed up. The hardest part was having a dollar amount in mind. I can say with certainty, as hard as it may be, the more things you can try and figure out before you get there the easier it will be to figure out the finer details. My mother passed away and the Shrine of Remembrance did an excellent job taking care of my father and I. Their Olympian Plaza Reception Center (which is directly across the street from the main chapel, crematory, and mausoleum) is exquisite. The food and facility is excellent. I also learned they have been hosting the Pikes Peak Jazz and Swing Society there every second Sunday of the month for over 15 years. Its comforting knowing that the cremation is done on property by their staff - unlike other crematories my friends and relatives have worked with in the past. Their director Matthew, staff, and chefs took the time to properly serve our family and gave my father peace of mind during a difficult time. I have been to other funeral parlors and receptions and they just do not compare. I would highly recommend their services.

Through the years I've attended many funerals at several different funeral homes in and around Colorado Springs. The Shrine of Remembrance stands out from the rest. After attending another service there recently, I engaged one of their staff members and asked a few questions as I was curious what they do to make it so very special. The biggest take away was learning that the vast majority of the funeral homes in the area are owned by corporations from out of state. The Shrine of Remembrance as a family owned and operated funeral home has the ability to be much more flexible in serving the needs of the families they serve. In fact, there are three generations of the family members working there. If you know anything about small family run businesses, you know this is a rarity.
