The Rockingham Harrisonburg SPCA is one of the most compassionate places I have ever known. As a volunteer, I get to witness the love, patience, and devotion the staff shows every animal who walks through their doors. These animals arent just pets to themthey are souls deserving of safety, comfort, dignity, and a chance at a beautiful life. The team works tirelessly day and night to make sure every animal is fed, clean, cared for, and given the medical attention they need. Their kindness is real, and its constant. My family experienced that kindness in a deeply personal way. On the day my son graduated from JMU, he decided he wanted to adopt his very first dog. He went to the RHSPCA and met a sick husky who wasnt adoptable yet and needed a foster home first. Even though the odds were stacked against this poor pup, my son felt an instant connection.
