My mom passed recently from cancer, it was pretty unexpected. She didn't have much together as far as a plan for what might happen after, she just wasn't the kind of person to plan for that, she loved life and wasn't expecting to pass. She didn't have much at the end of her life, it's a surreal feeling to think most of the belongings of one of the most important people in your life could fit in a night stand. As she never got remarried and I was the oldest child, it was my job to figure out what to do. I consulted friends and family and we thought a direct cremation might be the way to go while we figure things out. Society doesn't give you a ton of time to figure out this sort of stuff so I got all her personal information together and we set up a cremation with a memorial that we will plan later this spring when the eldest family can make it during warmer weather. I had asked for recommendations in the Pittsburgh area for inexpensive cremations on Reddit as I was paying out of pock
I have used Ball funeral home in the past for my grandmothers cremation. I now have to use them again for my daughters stillborn baby. They are very professional and assisted with my daughters baby cremation. I recommend them highly
They were very patient with all of my questions and made the process so much easier for me in a difficult time.
