My mother Nomzamo Iyanu passed away on June 28 2025 around 3 AM in the morning. Her body lays rest at the Winfield funeral home graveyard on plank Road in Baton Rouge Louisiana. A year before my mom passed she told me what she wanted to wear for her funeral. She always said she wanted African dancers and for it to be a celebration. The Winfield funeral home, exceeded my expectations. They did such an amazing job. We worked directly with Mr. Wil Carter, Mr. Christian Slaughter, Miss Renea Spears and Leslie Burnstein. Each one of them did an excellent job. They were extremely professional. They were patient with us as we changed different things like the order of the program, my mothers clothing and jewelry, the picture video, and the blessing of my mothers body. They gave us the time that we needed to get everything in order and they showed up to the program matching our theme, African attire. They exceeded in every area. They picked us up on time in the limo, brought us to the private

My mom passed away from her battle with cancer on may 24th i just wanna say thank you guys so much Winnfield Funeral Home made us feel right at home they made sure the process was smooth and stress free as possible the service was amazing & all my family and friends was very pleased that mean the world to me and my sister also a special shoutout to Marcus K.
