As my family and I made plans honor my fathers wishes to have them buried in Hawaii because it was their favorite place to visit. As it was going to be a Military burial Dodos was there to make all the arrangements for us. As all 35 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were coming from the state of Illinois area, it was all their hands to organize for us. The whole family was so pleased with how the ceremony went which helped put them at ease. As we never met them in person they still after it all they called me to make sure everything went smoothly. I thank them for all they did for me and my family.
I want to thank Lupe and Mitchell for being so professional yet kind and heartwarming to my mom Janet Chavaries and to all of us the Chavaries family Her service was very special to all of us And Everything looked nice n went well, I know mom was smiling down at everyone and is at peace O Ill let anyone know that Dodo montuary is a very pleasant and professional place to make final arrangements for ur loved ones. Frequently Asked Questions About Dodo Mortuary, Inc.
How much does direct cremation cost at Dodo Mortuary, Inc.?
Dodo Mortuary, Inc. lists direct cremation from $950 in Hilo, Hawaii. That is a listed starting price, not a quote. Ask for a written, itemized price list before paying — any funeral provider must give you one on request under the FTC Funeral Rule.
What cremation packages does Dodo Mortuary, Inc. list prices for?
Dodo Mortuary, Inc. publishes starting prices for direct cremation from $950, cremation with a memorial service from $5,235 and a full-service funeral with cremation from $7,185. What each package includes varies between providers, so ask for an itemized list of exactly what is and is not covered before comparing those figures with anyone else’s.
How is Dodo Mortuary, Inc. rated?
Dodo Mortuary, Inc. is rated 3.7 out of 5 from 16 reviews. That rating and review count come from the provider’s public Google listing, not from Local Cremation Guide. A rating says nothing about price, so compare quotes as well as reviews.
Where is Dodo Mortuary, Inc. located?
Dodo Mortuary, Inc. is at 199 Wainaku St, Hilo, HI 96720, and we list them under Hilo, Hawaii. Cremation providers often collect from surrounding towns, hospitals and hospices as well, but coverage and any mileage charge vary — ask Dodo Mortuary, Inc. whether they serve your address and what transportation is included in the price.
How do I get an itemized quote from Dodo Mortuary, Inc.?
Call Dodo Mortuary, Inc. at +1 808-935-5751 and ask for their General Price List. Under the FTC Funeral Rule, any funeral provider must give you an itemized price list on request and must quote prices over the phone. Line the same items up across providers — the cremation fee, transportation, the basic container, filing the death certificate and certified copies — so you are comparing like with like.
Is this listing verified by Dodo Mortuary, Inc.?
No. This listing was compiled from public sources and has not been claimed by Dodo Mortuary, Inc., so we cannot confirm the details with the business. Treat the prices and contact details on this page as a starting point and confirm them directly.
Can I get quotes from other Hilo providers too?
Yes. We list 5 cremation providers in Hilo, and the free quote form on this page goes to local providers, not only Dodo Mortuary, Inc.. Comparing at least three itemized quotes for the same service is the simplest way to tell whether a price is fair.
