The longstanding trustworthiness can't be overstated. In caring for my family through my mother's death, they guided us through it making our choices easy. At first it seemed like it would be complicated to transport her body from out of state but once Harmers got involved they sent a driver Dustin to get her body there directly, and we even received notice as she crossed the state line, so reassuring. The stories shared by Jay with my Dad from them growing up in Shinnston were so appreciated. Many of the guests commented on how smoothly Harmers facilitated all aspects of the services. I wish I took pictures of the facility as there is a very nice gathering area by the kitchen that appears recently remodeled. Our thanks to Jay, Jacob, Dustin, and all the people that provided such high level of service.
Harner Funeral Home treated us like family. They took care of everything and allowed us as a family to grieve together and to greet friends and community. Every request was honored and carried out exactly to specification. We would highly recommend Harmers to anyone that needs a carring and supportive environment to handle all the end of life needs that a family goes through. It was truly a blessing to have them by our side.
You have taken us through a lot of final moments with our family and you have always met our needs with compassion and support .

Frequently Asked Questions About Harmer Funeral Home
How much does direct cremation cost at Harmer Funeral Home?
Harmer Funeral Home has not published a direct cremation price with us, so this page does not list one. Call +1 304-592-2500 and ask for the total price in writing before you agree to anything.
How is Harmer Funeral Home rated?
Harmer Funeral Home is rated 5.0 out of 5 from 4 reviews. That rating and review count come from the provider’s public Google listing, not from Local Cremation Guide. A rating says nothing about price, so compare quotes as well as reviews.
Where is Harmer Funeral Home located?
Harmer Funeral Home is at 300 Pike St, Shinnston, WV 26431, and we list them under Shinnston, West Virginia. Cremation providers often collect from surrounding towns, hospitals and hospices as well, but coverage and any mileage charge vary — ask Harmer Funeral Home whether they serve your address and what transportation is included in the price.
How do I get an itemized quote from Harmer Funeral Home?
Call Harmer Funeral Home at +1 304-592-2500 and ask for their General Price List. Under the FTC Funeral Rule, any funeral provider must give you an itemized price list on request and must quote prices over the phone. Line the same items up across providers — the cremation fee, transportation, the basic container, filing the death certificate and certified copies — so you are comparing like with like.
Is this listing verified by Harmer Funeral Home?
No. This listing was compiled from public sources and has not been claimed by Harmer Funeral Home, so we cannot confirm the details with the business. Treat the prices and contact details on this page as a starting point and confirm them directly.
Can I get quotes from other Shinnston providers too?
Yes. We list 2 cremation providers in Shinnston, and the free quote form on this page goes to local providers, not only Harmer Funeral Home. Comparing at least three itemized quotes for the same service is the simplest way to tell whether a price is fair.
Prices, ratings and contact details on this page come from the listing we hold for Harmer Funeral Home and are refreshed periodically — confirm anything you are relying on directly with the provider.
