Had a wonderful experience working with Gary at Bangs for my father's funeral service in Ithaca & transportation for burial out of state. My family was especially pleased with Gary's embalming services - we only wanted the casket open for the family, but he made my dad look so good we could have left it open the whole time! Gary provides the best of everything you need in a sad & stressful time - kindness, attention to detail, skill & knowledge of his profession & a sense of humor when appropriate. Everyone at Bangs has been very polite, professional and thorough with every little detail that we needed taken care of. Highly recommend!
I cannot sing Gary's praises highly enough. My father died unexpectedly and the last 5 days have been an absolute nightmare. Of all of the things that my family has been through, this was one of the things I was dreading the most. It's another level of finality that your parent is truly gone. But by the time my brother and I left Bangs,we felt at peace. He made a really traumatic experience anything but. He has a way about him that puts you immediately at ease. The process was smooth and it was handled very gently and efficiently. He really was such a comfort and just a pleasure to be around. So,a huge thank you to Gary and the folks at Bangs for taking care of my family and my father at a very difficult time.
Professional and caring service. Joe was thoughtful and very helpful during this emotional difficult time.Joes guidance through this process made it seamless. Highly Recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions About Bangs Funeral Home
How much does direct cremation cost at Bangs Funeral Home?
Bangs Funeral Home has not published a direct cremation price with us, so this page does not list one. Call +1 607-272-1922 and ask for the total price in writing before you agree to anything.
How is Bangs Funeral Home rated?
Bangs Funeral Home is rated 4.6 out of 5 from 12 reviews. That rating and review count come from the provider’s public Google listing, not from Local Cremation Guide. A rating says nothing about price, so compare quotes as well as reviews.
Where is Bangs Funeral Home located?
Bangs Funeral Home is at 209 W Green St, Ithaca, NY 14850, and we list them under Ithaca, New York. Cremation providers often collect from surrounding towns, hospitals and hospices as well, but coverage and any mileage charge vary — ask Bangs Funeral Home whether they serve your address and what transportation is included in the price.
How do I get an itemized quote from Bangs Funeral Home?
Call Bangs Funeral Home at +1 607-272-1922 and ask for their General Price List. Under the FTC Funeral Rule, any funeral provider must give you an itemized price list on request and must quote prices over the phone. Line the same items up across providers — the cremation fee, transportation, the basic container, filing the death certificate and certified copies — so you are comparing like with like.
Is this listing verified by Bangs Funeral Home?
No. This listing was compiled from public sources and has not been claimed by Bangs Funeral Home, so we cannot confirm the details with the business. Treat the prices and contact details on this page as a starting point and confirm them directly.
Can I get quotes from other Ithaca providers too?
Yes. We list 4 cremation providers in Ithaca, and the free quote form on this page goes to local providers, not only Bangs Funeral Home. Comparing at least three itemized quotes for the same service is the simplest way to tell whether a price is fair.
Prices, ratings and contact details on this page come from the listing we hold for Bangs Funeral Home and are refreshed periodically — confirm anything you are relying on directly with the provider.
