My son passed away exactly a year ago this month from heart failure before he was two years old. We were at the hospital and our hospice team was helping me reach out about burial options during his final moments and following that as we dressed him. For some reason I'd started looking into burial options in NC and wanted something natural. After all the treatments he went through, I wanted to give him the most natural, beautiful gift of burial in a way that respected the earth as well as his body, a place of real peace and rest. That's where these guys came in. I mentioned this place to my hospice friend and she made a phone call, and within minutes, they had us set up with a wonderful option for burying him. What a gift! In our darkest moment some strangers offered such a process gift of taking away the burden of burying my baby and giving me a space to do so. The options for burial locations was very broad and they worked specifically with me to find a spot overlooking the water,

I wish this type of burial could become the norm in order to contribute to ecological sustainability, even at the end of our lives.
