Neptune Society
Pricing & details updated October 2026
The Neptune Society staff made it very easy to sign both my wife and me for their services. There was no pressure or up-sell. I was doing this as my wife was a few months from end of life, and I was treated so gently and respectfully. When Judy breathed her last just after midnight, their staff came promptly, gave our kids and i time with her, and took her gently into the night. The Neptune Castro Valley staff kept me updated on all the following steps and promptly got us the death certificates and Judy's cremains in the same gently manner. I can highly recommend the Neptune Society for your final arrangements, and that you take care of that well before you need them.
I was worried the day my mom passed if Neptune Society would live up to their promise of "Just make the phone call and we will handle the rest." That was exactly how it went. I spoke with Dayna Jackson on my first call and she ran with it. Gave me the run down of what would be happening next, helped me order the death certificates, explained the contract I was signing and pretty much took a huge load off of me. I highly recommend getting a plan for peace of mind. Dayna is wonderful and focused on helping the family when needed. Much appreciated!
They contacted me immediately and took care of everything in a kind and caring matter, stayed in contact with us and when we met to pick up remains, they had a nice memorial set up, made us feel like family.

Frequently Asked Questions About Neptune Society
How much does direct cremation cost at Neptune Society?
Neptune Society lists direct cremation from $2,070 in Castro Valley, California. That is a listed starting price, not a quote. Ask for a written, itemized price list before paying — any funeral provider must give you one on request under the FTC Funeral Rule.
What cremation packages does Neptune Society list prices for?
Neptune Society publishes starting prices for direct cremation from $2,070 and cremation with a memorial service from $5,640. What each package includes varies between providers, so ask for an itemized list of exactly what is and is not covered before comparing those figures with anyone else’s.
How is Neptune Society rated?
Neptune Society is rated 4.9 out of 5 from 117 reviews. That rating and review count come from the provider’s public Google listing, not from Local Cremation Guide. A rating says nothing about price, so compare quotes as well as reviews.
Where is Neptune Society located?
Neptune Society is at 2419 Grove Way, Castro Valley, CA 94546, and we list them under Castro Valley, California. Cremation providers often collect from surrounding towns, hospitals and hospices as well, but coverage and any mileage charge vary — ask Neptune Society whether they serve your address and what transportation is included in the price.
How do I get an itemized quote from Neptune Society?
Call Neptune Society at +1 510-889-7110 and ask for their General Price List. Under the FTC Funeral Rule, any funeral provider must give you an itemized price list on request and must quote prices over the phone. Line the same items up across providers — the cremation fee, transportation, the basic container, filing the death certificate and certified copies — so you are comparing like with like.
