I unexpectedly lost my brother in late November. While Ive never been through a loss, I happen to know more than usual about what to expect and what is fair when making arrangements for a loved one who has passed. I was looking for a direct cremation, and the first place I called attempted to exploit the situation. I hung up, gathered myself, and called Hillcrest next. I was greeted by Hector Chavira, who immediately put me at ease. Hector quickly recognized my tone and desire to be direct and followed my lead while remaining compassionate, kind, and informative (without being condescending). As awful as losing my brother has been, I am genuinely grateful for the care shown by Hillcrest, which was a bright spot in all of this. I wanted to share this for anyone who may find themselves in need of someone who truly understands and who can be a guide through the unimaginable.
